1 killed in bus-van collision in Badalgashi

A seven-month pregnant woman was killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a van in Badalgachi upazila of Naogaon. Two others were injured.

The accident took place in front of the Apple Motorcycle showroom on the Badalgachi-Matazihat road of the upazila around 12:30 pm on Monday.

The name of the deceased woman is Sanjita Rani (18). He is from upazila

Wife of Jatin of Bhatsail village of Sadar Union.

It is known that the bus was going to Naogaon via Badalgachi from Najipur. On the other hand, the van was going to Vatsail village with passengers from Badalgachi. A bus-van collided head-on in front of the Apple showroom. The woman died on the spot.

Rezaul Karim, Station Officer of Badalgachi Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, who took part in the rescue work, said that after getting the information about the collision between the bus and the van, we went to the spot and rescued one person, including the injured driver of the van, who was dead and another one was seriously injured. The van driver and a passenger were rescued and sent to Badalgachi Upazila Health Complex.

When asked about the cause of the accident, Rezaul Karim said that the place where the accident happened. The road at that place is steep. The van was carrying passengers from Badalgachi Charmatha towards Vatsail village. On the other hand, the bus was on its way from Najipur to Naogaon via Badalgachi when it collided in front of the Apple Motorcycle Showroom. The injured are under treatment in hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badalgachi police station. Shahjahan Ali said that the killer bus has been detained in this incident. Legal action is ongoing at the police station in the case of the deceased. Besides, arrangements have been made to treat the injured.
