10 Awami League workers arrested with placards with Donald Trump’s picture

The police arrested 10 people with placards of the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, based on the program of Awami League.

These 10 people were arrested during raids in different areas of the capital on Saturday (November 10) night while trying to hold illegal processions and gatherings.

This information was informed in a circular signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday. The names of the arrested persons were not mentioned in the notification.

The DMP said at least 10 people were arrested on Saturday, including several Awami League activists, including those who executed the directives of the alleged audio clip of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina that went viral recently. During the arrest, a large amount of evidence including provocative posters, placards with pictures and cash was recovered from them.

On the basis of intelligence information, police raided various areas of Dhaka city and arrested them on Saturday. Talebur Rahman said, in the audio clip that went viral on social media recently, Sheikh Hasina instructed her party leaders and workers to use the picture and placards of the newly elected president of the United States and use the flag of the United States as a shield during the rally.

The police say that they have planned this act as part of an attempt to destroy the good relations of the United States, a friendly country of Bangladesh.
