The athletes are not satisfied with the accommodation prepared for them by the organizers of the Paris Olympics. The star American tennis player Coco Gauffová joined the critics of the conditions in the Olympic village.
Several well-known names have already lost patience with the village and exchanged official accommodation for a stay in more comfortable Parisian hotels.
Gauff decided to stay, but she was the only one on the US women’s tennis team to do so, she said. Her colleagues from the Olympic village stampeded for better.
The 20-year-old American star, who entered the Olympic tennis tournament with a clear 6-3, 6-0 win over Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, showed the conditions in the village through a series of videos on the social network TikTok.
“10 girls, two bathrooms,” she wrote alongside the chaotic scene, where the video shows the American women trying to groom themselves in cramped conditions.
When one of the fans wrote that the players should have decided to stay in another hotel, Gauff replied that all her tennis colleagues had already done so in the Olympic village, the construction of which the French spent 1.6 billion euros.
One of the two flag-bearers of the American expedition to the 2024 Olympics added that the rooms were designed for eight people, but ten female players were crowded into them.
In addition, Gauff had to borrow a bed mattress from the US archery team, as it was too thin for her to sleep on.
Interestingly, basketball player LeBron James, who carried the flag of the American expedition with Gauff at the opening ceremony, together with his teammates from the star Dream Team moved to the comfort of other hotels in Paris.
