Apple’s annual event for new iPhones will be held on September 9, and with the introduction of new products, it’s likely that some current models will be retired. Here’s a list of Apple devices that may no longer be available in the Apple Store after the presentation.
iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max
Since 2018, Apple has had a habit of stopping the sale of flagship iPhones a year after their launch, and it looks like that trend will continue. The iPhone 15 Pro could be the last model with 6.1- and 6.7-inch displays, as the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to feature larger displays. Additionally, the Blue Titanium variant of the 15 Pro may not make it into the new lineup.
iPhone 14 Plus
The iPhone 14 Plus, the first entry-level iPhone with a large screen, could be retired. It offered a 6.7-inch display and long battery life, but it could be discontinued like the iPhone 13 mini, keeping the iPhone 14 around for a while longer.
iPhone 13
Launched in 2021, the iPhone 13 has seen several price drops and is currently the oldest iPhone still for sale on Apple’s website. However, with the arrival of the iPhone 16, it could be retired to make way for the iPhone 14 at a price of $599, at least until the iPhone SE 4 arrives.
Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, e SE 2
Apple is expected to update all Apple Watch models during the event, introducing the Series 10 with larger displays and a thinner design, the Ultra 3 with minor updates, and a more affordable plastic-framed SE 3. With these updates, it’s likely that the current models will be retired.
AirPods 2 e AirPods 3
The AirPods 2, sold since 2019 as the entry-level model, and the AirPods 3, launched in 2021, could be replaced by two new variants of the AirPods 4. The mid-tier variant is expected to include noise cancellation, which is absent in the AirPods 2, likely leading to the discontinuation of both current models.
iPad mini 6 and iPad 10
Apple may also revamp the iPad mini 6 and iPad 10 models. Although the iPad 10 has seen a price cut this year, it is expected to get a refresh, with the current model possibly being retired. The iPad mini, which could get Apple Intelligence support and more storage, is also set to be replaced by the new model.
With Apple’s keynote on the horizon, these devices could soon become a thing of the past, replaced by new, more powerful versions.
