1&1 expands family discount: now also available for smaller tariffs

Tariffs for families

With the family discount, families can save thanks to additional cards. Now 1&1 is expanding the option to other tariffs.

Good news for 1&1 customers: The network operator is expanding its family offer and is now offering the family discount introduced in the summer for other tariffs. Initially the offer was only valid for selected tariffs, but the option is now being expanded to include the all-net flat tariffs S and M.

Allnet Flat S and M: 1&1 offers a family discount

Until now, the family advantage at 1&1 was limited to the higher tariff classes, but thanks to the adjustment, the cheaper tariffs are now also available for Family discount released. The Allnet-Flat S, for example, offers 10 GB of data volume and costs only 9.99 euros as the main card for the first six months, before increasing to 19.99 euros per month. The associated additional cards are permanently available for 9.99 euros.

For slightly larger data requirements, there is the Allnet-Flat M with 40 GB, which also costs 9.99 euros for the first half of the year and then increases to 24.99 euros. Here the additional cards are charged at 14.99 euros per month. At the upper end of the tariff spectrum is the Allnet-Flat L with 80 GB – here you pay 14.99 euros for the main card in the first six months, then 29.99 euros. The associated Family Cards then cost 19.99 euros per month.

Same performance, slim price

The highlight of the family offer: The additional cards have exactly the same features as the respective main card. Family members or other users benefit from the same data volumes and all-network options.

Up to five additional contracts can be added to a main contract, which is an attractive solution, especially for families. The important point here is that even if the SIM cards can be passed on to different people, the main contract holder officially remains the contract and cost bearer for all connected contracts.

If desired, the tariffs can also be combined with smartphones – although there are additional charges depending on the model. The mobile phone connections run in the 1&1 network; National roaming also provides customers with coverage where the 1&1 network alone is not sufficient, as Vodafone steps in.

No discount for unlimited tariffs

One small downside remains: There are currently no discounted Family Cards for the unlimited data tariffs. So if you want unlimited data volume and need multiple connections, you have to expect full prices for each additional card. For many users who already prefer limited volume tariffs, the current expansion of the family benefit should still be a welcome offer.
