At least 11 people died in the vicinity of the city of Sur during Sunday’s Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced this last night, according to AFP. Israel says it is carrying out strikes in the area against the Hezbollah movement, which is shelling northern Israel from southern Lebanon.
“Hostile Israeli strikes on villages around Sur resulted in 11 deaths and 48 injuries,” the ministry said. According to AFP, Hezbollah is very active in the area.
Israel carried out a number of strikes on Beirut and other areas in Lebanon on Sunday. During one of them, he killed Hezbollah spokesman Muhammad Afif. Attacks on neighborhoods in Beirut then claimed the lives of a total of eight people, local authorities reported.
Israel and Hezbollah have been firing each other since last October, when the Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas attacked Israel. In Lebanon since then, Israeli attacks have left 3,481 dead and 14,786 wounded, according to Sunday’s figures from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, including 29 killed and 122 wounded on Saturday.
