It is known that makeup damages the skin, but we do not think of harming it by cleaning it. We believe we are doing the right things to take care of our beauty and our skin and yet, sometimes, we should abstain…
We always believe we are doing the right thing and yet some of our beauty procedures put our skin to torture. So, avoid the worst ones.
Are you doing the 12 actions that damage your skin?
1 – I remove my make-up remover milk with very hot water, to cleanse deeply
Very hot water should be avoided, loss of firmness and visible enlarged pores…if you use a water cleanser, rinse with lukewarm water, finishing with cold water, to tighten the pores. This should not prevent you from using a tonic to compensate for the effect of limescale.
If you use makeup remover milk, water is not enough. Only a toner can remove the rest of the makeup residue and the oily veil left by milk. The tonic is also a skincare supplement, which is why there are tonics for oily skin (astringent) as well as for dry skin (moisturizing).

2 – I rub my eyes vigorously when I wake up to get the blood circulating
This is how we accelerate the aging phenomenon and the more we move the tissues, the more they lose their elasticity. The area around the eyes is the most fragile : by mishandling the fabrics, you obtain in the long run the same effect as crumpled tissue paper.
3 – I stay in a hot bath for hours
Heat destroys elastic fibers: results in skin without firmness. Too bad for our comfort, the skin loves the cold! We don’t tell you to take ice baths….
If you prefer showers, you can start with hot water to restart blood circulation, especially in the morning, but always end with cool water to improve circulatory return and stimulate the tissues.

4 – I rub myself with a horsehair glove to soften my body, it feels good when it hurts
Red spiders in sight! The horsehair glove is rough and if the skin is thin and the capillaries fragile, the vessels burst leading to the formation of purple filaments. The gentle method works just as well: it is preferable to make a good scrub.
The natural method being the best, mix salt in a little olive oil until you obtain a kind of paste and rub your body with it. Soft skin guaranteed.
5 – I use more stripping scrubs: real peels are good for wrinkles
It is especially good for bursting the small vessels that irrigate our skin. Don’t be surprised to see ugly, persistent purple marbling appear.
A facial scrub helps remove impurities, excess sebum, makeup residue and makes the skin more receptive to care products, but in no case will it have an exfoliating effect on wrinkles.
To be done twice a week to oily skin and only once for dry and fragile skin.
Beauty tip : The exfoliation must be done delicately, with the tips of the fingers, in a circle going up from the bottom of the chin towards the temples. For the forehead, start from the base of the nose and go up towards the hairline.
6 – I double the application time of my mask for more results
If it’s a clay mask, no way. In general, cleansing and purifying masks are very active and dry out over time. Result: this excites the sebaceous glands, increases sebum production and the skin shines even more.
The exposure time is calculated precisely, and it must be respected. Only moisturizing masks escape the rule; once the excess is removed with an absorbent paper, they can even be used as a makeup base, a good tip for dry skin.

7 – I only use waterproof mascara, it lasts better
The use of waterproof mascara must be limited: its quality can become a defect in the long run, because waterproofed, the eyelash does not breathe: the result is asphyxiation and loss. Use only if necessary.
8 – I never remove my eyelashes
Removing makeup is the first beauty step, whether for the skin or the eyes. Asphyxiated eyelashes are eyelashes that lose their vigor over time. Result: they become skinny and fall faster than expected.
9 – I cut my eyelashes so that they thicken
Especially not! THE eyelashes tend to fall faster than they grow back: sun, intensive makeup, pollution, natural hair loss every 30 to 40 days: so many factors that don’t help things. So don’t add more.
10 – I rub my hair vigorously with a towel
Our hair needs softness, stop hurting it. You need to dry your hair before blow-drying, but that’s no reason to break it by rubbing it in all directions. Grab them through the towel with your hands and massage them using regular pressure.
11 – I do express blow-drys
Too bad for your hair. Express blow drying means quick drying. However, like skin, hair doesn’t like heat, so try to be patient and take a little more time to dry your hair at a lukewarm temperature.
And above all, constantly sweep your hair with the dryer, do not stop on one area so as not to further damage the hair. To discover: the generation of thermal protectors. They spray on the hair before blow drying. Their active ingredients react to heat and coat the hair fibers.
12 – I wear nail polish every day
The nail is a living material, it needs to breathe so let it breathe one day a week, take the opportunity to give yourself a manicure.
