According to the ‘Status of administrative dispositions and disciplinary actions in public health over the past five years’ received from the Ministry of Health and Welfare by Jang Jong-tae, a member of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee and a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 30th, from 2019 to August of this year, 166 public health doctors were subject to administrative dispositions; A total of 342 people, including 176 who were disciplined, were counted as having committed deviant acts.

Looking at the status of administrative dispositions by reason, 107 out of 166 people were punished for absenteeism without notice. This accounts for 64.5% of all administrative dispositions. Among the 166 people who received administrative measures, 32 people, or 19.3%, were deprived of their status as public servants. There were 134 public service doctors who had their service period extended, accounting for 80.7% of the total.

As for the reason for disciplinary action, 72 out of 176 (40.9%) were disciplined for drunk driving. Driving-related disciplinary action, such as driving without a license and hit-and-run, was also counted as 32 people, or 18.2%. There were 14 people disciplined for sexual misconduct. A total of 32 people were disciplined for fraud, injury, theft, assault, overexposure, gambling, and other reasons.

Of the 176 people disciplined, 108 received light punishment equivalent to an unwritten reprimand, reprimand, or pay reduction, and 68 received severe punishment equivalent to suspension, pay reduction, dismissal, or dismissal.

There was also a public affairs doctor who was disciplined for drug and digital sex crimes. Over the past five years, seven public health doctors have been disciplined for reasons such as filming and distributing pornography using cameras, and possessing and distributing pornography.
