1st in history: British horror film was shot entirely on the iPhone 15

For the first time in history, an iPhone was used to shoot an entire high-budget movie. This groundbreaking project is a post-apocalyptic horror film featuring actor Cillian Murphy.

The iPhone has once again proven that in talented hands and with the use of several lenses or external storage, it can work wonders. Low-budget films like Tangerine (2015), Unsane (2018) or High Flying Bird (2019) just with the help of iPhone. This time though Apple the device played a key role in the creation of the highly anticipated British post-apocalyptic horror film 28 Years Later. The makers of the film announced that the entire picture was shot on iPhone 15 Pro Maxwhich, like the previous model, already offers a “Cinematic Mode” mode, which is adapted precisely for these purposes. Its advantage is sophisticated automatic focus, 4K HDR support or depth of field. However, unlike the previously mentioned projects, it is not a small film or a music clip, but a high-budget film with costs exceeding 75 million dollars.

28 Years Later

28 Years Later is a planned sequel to the horror series that started the movies 28 Days Later a 28 Weeks Later. The installment is set to explore a world nearly three decades after the outbreak of a deadly disease that turned humans into fast-moving zombies. There aren’t many details about the plot yet, but the film is expected to stick to the post-apocalyptic tone of the previous installments and develop the story of the survivors in an even darker and more dangerous time. We should wait for the premiere in June 2025.
