2 million 667 thousand 955 vehicles were inspected nationwide: 475 thousand 427 drivers were subjected to legal action

Minister Yerlikaya shared data on traffic inspections carried out by police and gendarmerie teams in the last week on his social media account.

Stating that 2 million 667 thousand 955 vehicles were inspected within this scope, Yerlikaya gave information that action was taken against 265 drivers who used devices with light or audible warning signs (flashing) by attaching them to vehicles that are not permitted by law.

Stating that action was taken against 124,336 speeding drivers, 27,263 drivers who did not have periodic inspections, 19,161 drivers who did not use seat belts, 16,742 drivers who used vehicles without a driver’s license, and 10,188 drivers who did not have compulsory financial liability insurance, a total of 475,427 drivers were included in the process, Yerlikaya said:

“The 2024-2025 academic year has started. Our inspection activities for school bus vehicles and drivers have been intensified by our police and gendarmerie units throughout the country to ensure that our children, the assurance of our future, are transported to their schools in peace and safety. It is a legal obligation for our children, auxiliary personnel and drivers to wear seat belts in school bus vehicles.”
