Launched in 2005, the Asian Film Academy has played an important role in discovering promising Asian filmmakers and helping them grow.

Since its new launch in 2022 as the CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy in collaboration with Chanel, it has established itself as a leader in Asian film education by providing a more advanced curriculum with Chanel’s generous support.

Its status is growing every year, with 613 applicants from 34 countries in 2024, recording the highest competition rate ever (25:1). This program provides opportunities for Asian filmmakers to fully demonstrate their creativity and challenge themselves on the international stage, and is nurturing talents who will lead the future of Asian film.
