22 people, including children, were killed in an attack on a school in Gaza, Israel targeted Hamas – World – News

At least 22 people were killed in an Israeli attack on the buildings of a school in Gaza City, where Palestinians displaced by the war in the Gaza Strip were sheltering. Six women and 13 children, including a three-month-old infant, were among the dead, according to the health ministry in Gaza, controlled by the Hamas movement. Reuters reported about it. The Israeli military previously announced that the target was the command post of the Palestinian movement Hamas in a former school building.

According to The Times of Israel (ToI) website, the Israeli army said that the school that was the target of its strike in Gaza City was used by Hamas for attacks against Israeli soldiers.

During the war in the Gaza Strip, which has been going on for almost a year, Israel has bombed dozens of schools and other buildings where civilians are fleeing from the fighting. Hospitals were also the targets of the strikes. The Israeli army justifies this by saying that the buildings are used by Hamas militants. But many civilians die in these attacks.

The war in the Gaza Strip began last October 7 with a Hamas attack on Israel, in which Palestinian militants killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took another 251 people hostage to Gaza. One hundred abductees remain in captivity, of which at least three dozen are no longer alive.

Israel’s retaliatory offensive in the Gaza Strip since October has claimed at least 41,391 Palestinian lives, most of them civilians, and more than 95,760 Palestinians have been injured in fighting and massive bombardment, the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Authority said today. The war in Gaza has caused a huge humanitarian crisis, hundreds of thousands of people live in the so-called humanitarian zone in tents or destroyed buildings, they don’t have enough food or drinking water, and Israeli bombs fall there too.
