◆Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Cancer Center hold colonoscopy pilot project symposium
The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Cancer Center will hold the ‘Colonoscopy Pilot Project Symposium’ to share the results of the colonoscopy pilot project that has been implemented for six years at the 1928 Art Center in Jeongdong, Seoul on the afternoon of the 18th.
In this symposium, in addition to the initial results of the colonoscopy pilot project implemented from 2019 to 2024, domestic experts related to colonoscopy such as the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Korean Society of Colon and Proctology participated to discuss ‘Colonoscopy quality management and complication management measures’. In particular, this symposium was prepared to explore the feasibility of introducing colonoscopy into the national cancer screening program and the future direction of national colon cancer screening based on the results of the colonoscopy pilot project.
◆Chonbuk National University Hospital selected as an excellent public specialized treatment center for children
Chonbuk National University Hospital announced that it was selected as an excellent institution in the children’s public specialized treatment center category at the 2024 Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province public health care support organization performance sharing meeting and received a commendation from the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Governor.
The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Public Health Care Support Organization Performance Sharing Meeting is an event designed to bring together public health care implementation agencies and support organization officials in the province to share best practices and strengthen the capabilities of public health care workers.
This event was held at the Grand Hillston Hotel in Jeonju. About 100 public health care officials attended the event to introduce and share various cooperation systems in the public health care field.
Since being designated as a public specialized treatment center for children in 2016, Chonbuk National University Children’s Hospital has played an important role in protecting the health of children and adolescents in the province as a responsible medical institution in the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province region. We have provided a wide range of public medical services, including treatment of severe pediatric diseases and rare and incurable diseases, as well as provision of emergency medical care for severe pediatric patients in connection with the local community and support for medically vulnerable groups. The hospital was recognized as an important reason for this award for its contribution to improving the health of children and adolescents in the Jeonbuk region.
