350 firefighters will remain at the fire site on the Karst at night, and will continue to clean and water the fire line, announced the regional headquarters of the Civil Protection for Northern Primorska. The drone system will also help them. On Saturday, the activities at the fire site will depend on the weather.

As announced by the CZ regional headquarters, approximately 350 firefighters from the Zasava region, Ljubljana and the coastal-karst and northern littoral regions will remain at the fire site overnight. The system of the state unit for unmanned aircraft will also help them to control the fire, if there are not too intense storms.

On Saturday morning, 350 firefighters from different fire regions are expected to come to the Karst. However, the activity on the third day will also depend on the weather, they added.

The fire that broke out on Thursday in the Karst is already completely under control. The fire area, where no smoke was seen today, covers 150 hectares. Activities at the fire site will continue on Saturday, followed by the fire watch.

Today, there were 480 firefighters from several Slovenian regions on the ground, as well as other services, and the air force, two air tractors and two helicopters of the Slovenian Army were also present.

The Prime Minister also visited the area today Robert Golob, who said that we have learned a lot from previous fires and have an effective system today. Director General of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Protection and Rescue Leon Behin however, he pointed out that the greatest added value is the new air tractor aircraft.
