Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office has said that such rainfall is due to the influence of monsoon. It has been raining in this sea city since last Wednesday. The Met Office said that the rains may continue for two more days.
Meanwhile, six people died in a separate incident in Cox’s Bazar due to landslides due to heavy rains. Three of them are Bangladeshi, the remaining three are Rohingya. Cox’s Bazar district administration said that the evacuation of the people at the foot of the hill is in progress.
Besides, hundreds of towns in the district have been submerged in water. Along with this, several villages have been flooded by the hill slopes and water entering.
