In his statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that 368 thousand 780 transactions were made in 2024 regarding “not having compulsory liability insurance”.
Yerlikaya stated that the number of traffic teams and inspections have been increased in order to protect the life and property safety of citizens, and that the number of accidents has decreased as the inspections increased, and shared the data about the traffic inspections carried out by the police and gendarmerie traffic teams in the last week.
Noting that 2 million 942 thousand 329 vehicles were inspected in this context between 14-21 November, Yerlikaya gave the following information:
“Action was taken against 231 drivers who installed devices with light or sound warning signs (strobes) on vehicles that are not permitted by the legislation. 115 thousand 949 speeding violations, 26 thousand 786 who did not have periodic inspections, 13 thousand 869 who drove without a driver’s license, 23 thousand who did not use seat belts.” “Together with 485 other transactions, a total of 462 thousand 324 vehicles/drivers were processed.”
Yerlikaya, who also included images of traffic controls in his post, said, “Journeys are there to reunite you with your loved ones, not to separate you.” he said.
