5 things to pay particular attention to when using the air conditioner in autumn

As autumn sets in, the temperature gradually drops, the days get shorter and the weather becomes more changeable. At this time, many people turn on the air conditioners again to balance the indoor temperature between the cool mornings and evenings and the warm periods of the day. However, the use of the air conditioner requires special attention in this case if we want to operate it efficiently and energy-savingly, and if we want to avoid possible health problems. In the following, we examine what to pay attention to when using the air conditioner in the autumn months.

1. Take weather changes into account

One of the characteristics of autumn is the rapidly changing weather. While it can be cooler in the morning and evening, there are often warmer hours during the day, which is why many people still use the air conditioner to cool the apartment. It is important not to do this out of habit: switch on the equipment only if it is really necessary due to the current temperature conditions. In the cooler months, even one night ventilation can often be enough to ensure a suitable temperature during the day, and with this we achieve that we do not overload our device unnecessarily.

2. We also use it for heating during the transition period

With the arrival of cooler weather, it often happens that we feel the apartment is colder than what is comfortable for us, yet we do not want to turn on the gas boiler, since we only need the heating occasionally. Most modern air conditioning equipment is already capable of heating the apartment, however, many fear that this feature will increase the electricity bill too much. If the air conditioner works efficiently and can be classified in a favorable energy class, we do not need to be afraid of this, because this method of heating often even more economical – especially if we only want to raise the temperature by a few degrees.

3. Maintain the equipment
