5,000 lei are given from the state. 5,000 lei in state money. Many Romanians can get this money. And the condition is a simple one for very many of them.

The Romanian state offers financial incentives to students who had outstanding academic results in the graduation exams.

According to a recent decision, 74 8th grade students who got an average of 10 in the National Assessment will benefit from 2,000 lei each, and 80 high school graduates who got the maximum average in the Baccalaureate will be awarded with 5,000 lei each lei.

The incentives are designed to recognize and encourage school results, with a total funding of 548,000 lei from the budget of the Ministry of Education.

Supporting young people who achieve well

Mihai Constantin, the spokesperson of the Government, highlighted that this measure aims to support young performers, so as to contribute to their professional and personal development.

Money is given from the state. “In order to reward and encourage school performance, the Government decided that the young people who obtained a grade 10 in the secondary and high school graduation exams this year should receive a financial incentive.

Thus, 74 graduates of the 8th grade, who obtained an average of 10 in the national assessment, in the 2024 session, will receive 2000 lei each. Also, 80 baccalaureate graduates who obtained an average of 10 in the national baccalaureate exam, June-July 2024 session, will receive 5,000 lei each”, announced Mihai Constantin, after the government meeting.

The display of the list of beneficiary students and the method of granting the incentives will be established by an order of the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca.

The amounts remained unchanged from previous years

According to the explanatory statement of this draft decision, the amounts remain unchanged compared to previous years.

For the year 2022, the incentives were granted for the same amounts, and the process regarding the approval of the list of beneficiaries took place in August, i.e. one month after the publication of the project.

The purpose of these measures is the government’s desire to support young people with potential and give them the resources they need to continue their studies at the highest level, writes News18.
