Domestic. Today, 617 police aspirants completed their training and on Monday they will begin their employment in local police areas around the country.
The new police officers were welcomed by National Police Chief Petra Lundh.
– You are all most welcome. We need more police officers in Sweden and you are a long-awaited reinforcement among our citizens, in the investigative work and in many other places, she says.
Petra Lundh urges the new police officers to use the latest knowledge and to share it with colleagues. At the same time, she points out that as a newcomer you should benefit from the experience of older colleagues.
– You will make a difference in many people’s lives. You have many fun days ahead of you, but there will also be tough days. Then you should know that you have all your colleagues behind you, including us in management.
Of the 617 new police officers, 498 have completed the basic training and 119 the functional police training. 266 are women and 351 are men.
