62% of Russian IT startups in the field of information security turned out to be profitable by the end of 2023

In 2023, 86% of Russian information security startups generated revenue, 62% of them were profitable. This is stated in the results of the study by T1 Holding.

The most in-demand areas within the information security segment are container and API security, biometric security, and cyberattack simulation.

“In the context of growing cyber threats and increasing volumes of accumulated information, cryptographic and anti-virus protection of information and electronic signatures, as well as tools for administering and managing the life cycle of key media, are especially in demand now,” noted Artem Karanovich, Head of the Digital Consulting Department at the NOTA vendor.

At present, more than 800 solutions from 250 developers are registered in the Register of Domestic Software. Year-on-year, the number of developers has increased by 38%.

The study involved startups whose revenue in 2023 did not exceed 2.5 billion rubles, whose market value did not exceed 25 billion rubles, and whose staff did not exceed 150 people.
