69-year-old Vladimir Korzinin from Estonia earned almost eight million dollars in just a few days – at one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. Just a year ago he didn’t know how to play poker, but today people all over the world are trying to unravel the secret of his success.
“He is a mysterious figure even for the Estonian poker community,” Laur Siebold, president of the Estonian Tournament Poker Federation, told Äripäev. Santa Claus, a wizard, Dumbledore and even Leo Tolstoy – this is what Vladimir was called by commentators watching the prestigious Triton Series poker tournament in Monaco. The image of a wise old man was created not only thanks to Vladimir’s appearance. One review of the tournament said that he created a “powerful aura of love around him.” He saw off the eliminated competitors with warm hugs and the words: “I love you.”
“He is a very mysterious person, but spiritual and kind. In my opinion, he is the embodiment of kindness and peace,” one of the poker players who personally knew Vladimir, but wished to remain anonymous, told Äripäev.
