72-hour road blockade is going on in Khagrachari

Road and waterway blockade for 72 hours has started from Saturday morning in protest against attacks, arson and killings in Khagrachari and Rangamati. No long-distance vehicles could leave Khagrachari due to road blockade.

Although some light traffic has been moving in the city since Saturday morning, vehicular movement is limited.

“Jumma Chhatra Janata” called for blockade of roads and waterways from a rally in Dhaka yesterday. The regional organization United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) announced the blockade in support of the program.

3 people were killed and several others injured in an unpleasant incident in Dighinala and Khagrachari Sadar following the incident of finding a dead body in Nowapara area of ​​Khagrachari Sadar on Wednesday morning. Hundreds of shops were burnt in Dighinala.

However, at present the overall law and order situation in the district is very calm. No untoward incidents have been reported so far.
