Nvidia has shared new figures showing that 80 percent of all gamers with Geforce RTX graphics cards use DLSS while gaming. In 2023, Nvidia reported that adoption was at 79 percent, indicating that the technology maintains a stable user base.
The figures differ from SweClocker’s members, where only 62 percent stated that they sometimes or always use DLSS. Some members felt that the technology is not supported by enough games and that the image quality is sometimes perceived as blurry.
However, how Nvidia collected its data is unclear. When the company reported usage figures for DLSS in 2023, the data was taken from Geforce Experience, which has now been replaced by the Nvidia app. It is also not clear how long DLSS needs to be activated in a game to count.
It’s also worth mentioning that Geforce Experience and the Nvidia app tend to enable DLSS or DLAA if you use the automatic optimization feature. This may have influenced the numbers and led to a higher estimate of usage.
