Fevad has published a 2024 map of e-commerce. Saving time, optimizing the budget, reducing constraints, satisfaction… Consumers view this sector favorably, since 93% of French people say they are satisfied with their online purchases.
The e-commerce map 2024, published by Fevadreveals very favorable results in terms of consumer satisfaction. 39.4 million French people buy on the internet, and e-consumers placed an average of 60 orders during the year 2023. Nearly 9 out of 10 respondents who recognize the impact of online commerce on their daily lives positive judge. It allows you to save time, optimize purchases and also to have items delivered that buyers cannot find near them. Online thus meets consumers’ expectations.
More than 8 out of 10 French people optimize their purchases thanks to this sector, with a wider range, more suitable, unique or original products. In addition, 86% of people use online services to manage their finances. A sector that exports well
Aware of the impact of their purchases, 79 % respondents consider it important to prioritize the made in France et 72 % choose environmentally friendly products environmental and ethical criteria. 45% of online shoppers have purchased at least one second-hand product in the last twelve months. In more detail, they mainly focus on physical cultural products, technical products/household appliances, fashion, games and toys, and finally furniture and decoration.

65% of French e-retailers sell internationally (+3 points compared to 2022). Nearly 7 out of 10 professionals in the sector are counting on an increase in their turnover over the next two years. France is the second largest e-commerce market (products and services) from Europe, with 159.9 billion euros. It is overtaken by the United Kingdom (480 billion euros), but is ahead of Germany (93.6 billion euros). According to a barometer conducted jointly by Fevad, LSA and OpinionWay in March 2024, 27 % sites that sell internationally are present in more than 10 countries.
