Acting as judges of the competition Jaana Villanen, Kerttu Rissanen, Linda Lampenius, Anitra Ahtola and Auri Kananen. The broadcast features several surprise performers.

Pink: “My style is simple and mostly very sporty. Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to dress comfortably rather than nicely. I recycle my clothes a lot. Between sisters and cousins, we give and lend our clothes to each other and donate to those in need. My family and I made a big clothing donation to Hope ry, for which we collected clothes for almost a year! I also like to go shopping at flea markets. I’ve been a frugal and very frugal person almost all my life, and I didn’t buy new clothes or accessories for almost a year! With age, I’ve started buying clothes, shoes and accessories only and only for what I need. It is difficult to estimate the exact amount, but I would say 100-200 euros a year!”

Count: “My style is varied. For sports, I’m used to sports clothes, but I also love to dress festively and I wear a lot of heels in casual outfits as well. I think recycling is important and I’ve already gotten used to giving unused clothes to younger cousins or neighbors. We also lend clothes to each other with friends and mother. I also buy used clothes, and especially after moving to Helsinki, I’ve fallen in love with thrift stores! I spend about 700-1000 euros a year on clothes.”

Amanda: “My style is classic and very basic. I don’t really use colors in anything other than accessories or party situations. I also really like the classic style. Knits are my weakness. I appreciate recycling and the fact that I can pass on my unused clothes. I admit that I should go to flea markets more than buy new clothes. During the last year, I have paid more attention to the fact that I only buy clothes and accessories when I really need them. I spend about 400-800 euros a year on clothes.”

Emilia: “My style is classic and timeless. I mostly use neutral tones. Sometimes I like to wear clothes with distinctive cuts. I love thrift shopping both in brick and mortar stores and online. If I need or want something, I always try to search used first. However, I do not compromise on quality, I avoid artificial fibers and buying fast fashion. I also wear almost all clothes at a seamstress, because the most important thing for me in a garment, in addition to the material, is that the garment fits well. I also invest in shoes. I can’t say how much money I spend on clothes – maybe around 500-1500 euros a year.”

Tia: “I have always been interested in following fashion and trends. Over the years, I’ve been looking for my own style and noticed that I take influences from many different genres. Sometimes you can see me in a glamor style look, sometimes in street style outfits. Ecology and recycling are important values for me. I love flea markets and often take day trips to flea markets in different cities. My group of friends and I have also solved clothing crises and we tend to lend clothes to each other – one’s old is another’s new! I would estimate that, depending on the year, I spend an average of 700-1500 euros on clothes, shoes and accessories.”

Meri: “I like to prefer soft materials and femininity when dressing. In Rovaniemi, I have a couple of trusted brick and mortar stores, from which I mainly make all the finds for performing and hosting gigs. Quality and durability are important to me. I have taken the clothes that are too small to the container or given them to my friends. During the Miss Finland competition, I have been at Hope’s Hämeenlinna point accepting clothing donations. I can’t say how much I spend a year on clothes and accessories, but I would estimate around 800 euros a year.

Delay: “My style could be described as relaxed and carefree, but at the same time it has a trendy touch that reflects modern street fashion. My style adapts to the situation and mood. However, I often like to dress casually and wear clothes that are comfortable to wear. I like clothes that are timeless and easy to combine. I also wear jewelry every day, they add personality and complete the look. I try to choose clothes that are durable and of high quality, so that they last as long as possible. I avoid impulse purchases and think carefully about what I really need. The principles of sustainable development are important to me and I try to combine them as part of my everyday life, also in dressing. . I spend about 500-1000 euros on clothes a year.”

Matilda: “My cornerstones in dressing are femininity, elegance and representativeness. I have always loved high heels and jewelry – I owned my first high heels when I was 9 years old. Today, my mother describes me as “an aesthetician, but not a materialist”. I think that’s an apt description! I love to use colors and patterns and I’m not afraid to be flashy. However, in a field that focuses on fashion and clothing, the circular economy and environmental protection are also important to me. I make a large part of my clothing purchases secondhand, because it is not only ecological, but also inspiring! I’ve found absolutely crazy treasures at flea markets, which I’m sure you wouldn’t find in stores. My grandmother’s old sewing machine makes it possible to modify flea finds into your own size or to adjust old clothes to fit the current style. I also send my own unused clothes to my sister and mother, to the flea market, and as donations to clothing collections. Most of the outfits you see me wearing on tour are previously worn and loved! Dressing badly can also be sustainable. The amount of money I spend on clothes and accessories each month varies, but I would estimate the annual amount to be around 1,000 euros.”

Francesca: “I found my own style a few years ago when I started learning more about how to express yourself through fashion and creativity. I would say my style is elegant and neutral, with a warm personal touch. It took me a while to find my own style, but when I started to understand fashion better, I also decided to start studying fashion marketing. While studying and learning about fashion, I have also learned a lot about myself. I strongly believe that wearing basic clothes that can be styled again and again helps to avoid constantly buying new clothes. It is important to dare to play with your style and try new combinations. I think it is also very important to donate clothes that you no longer wear and to buy second hand clothes. This reduces the environmental load and promotes sustainable consumption. I spend about 600 euros a year on clothes.

Nellie: “My style is colorful, feminine and experimental. I like to challenge myself by getting clothes or accessories that require imagination to fit and wear. I also believe in so-called dopamine dressing: bright colors, sparkling accessories and crazy hems increase the feeling of well-being in mind and body. Dressing up has been an important means of self-expression for me since childhood. I’m lucky because I had an excellent upbringing in recycling clothes. As a child, most of our clothes were from flea markets. My mother is a real flea hawk and always found us beautiful and clean used clothes and taught us the same exact eye for raking flea markets. So I’ve learned to think that if I need something, I always look at the flea market first. We always donated our old clothes either to other families, to UFF, or took them to the flea market ourselves. Nowadays, I sometimes also buy clothes in a store, but I still have a clear line: When new, I only buy quality or individual special things. I only buy fast fashion at the flea market because someone has already bought it from the store once. Having sold quality clothes myself for years, it’s hard to convince me that fast fashion is really worth the price. I wear clothes for a very long time and I know my style. I have favorite clothes that are ten years old. So I don’t buy new clothes very often, but sometimes I might go to a thrift shop, from which I bring back a bagful of new clothes from Ikea. It’s hard to estimate, but I would say that I spend around 500 euros a year on clothes and accessories.”
