Computex 2018: Thermaltake novelties and Razer marriage

Thermaltake’s booth was not empty at the event either, and the TT RGB PLUS family’s Razer Chroma Lightning synchronization will certainly please hobbyists.

Themaltake also came to this year’s Computex with a number of new products, of which we now present the 360 and 240 iterations of the Pacific M-series water coolers in a few sentences. Their full names on the birth certificate are Thermaltake Pacific M360 Plus D5 Hard Tube Water Cooling Kit, Pacific M360 D5 Hard Tube Water Cooling Kit and Pacific M240 D5 Hard Tube Water Cooling Kit.

The Pacific M360 Plus, primarily developed for high-end gamer configurations, is the newest member of the TT RGB PLUS ecosystem, so the rotation speed of the fans and the lighting effects of the TT RGB PLUS series lighting elements can be controlled using the TT RGB PLUS Software & App (through the TT AI Voice Control, even also with verbal instructions), not only from the desktop, but also from the mobile front. The CPU block is made of nickel-plated copper and comes with an LED ring capable of displaying 16.8 million colors and a universal grip mechanism, and assembly requires no tools. The PR22-D5 Plus tank/pump is made from POM (Polyoxymethylene) and PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate) and the 300ml tank also gets addressable RGB.

The 360 mm, densely grooved radii was also manufactured from German aluminum-zinc alloy (among other things). The three illuminated Riing fans are fluid bearing and PWM. The eight 16 mm chrome-plated C-Pro snap ring connectors are leak-proof. The two Pacific G1/4 90-degree adapters are made of chrome-plated copper, can be rotated 360 degrees and contain two closed O-rings, so users can turn the connection points to a 90-degree angle for easier pipe routing. The material of the 16 mm rigid V-Tubler tubes is PETG (glycolline polyethylene terephthalate). The line of accessories is completed by C1000 Pure Clear Coolant, which is a non-flammable coolant produced in Germany. In case of proper storage, the warranty period is at least three years, and in addition to helping with cooling, it also prevents corrosion of system elements.

The plain Pacific M360 comes with an addressable Pacific W4 RGB universal CPU block made of nickel-plated copper, a Pacific PR22-D5 pump/tank, a Pacific RL360 radio, three addressable Riing 12 RGB fans and six Pacific C-Pro pipe connectors. The 90-degree G1/4 adapter, the PETG tubes and the C1000 soldering iron are also available here as accessories.

The main components of the Pacific M240 system are the Pacific W3 (polished copper) process block, which also has a universal concept, the Pacific PR15-D5 pump/tank (with 200 ml tank), the Pacific RL240 radiator, three addressable Riing 12 RGB fans, and six Pacific C-Pro pipe clamps, modeled after the M360. The two chrome-plated 90-degree adapters, the pipes and the fluid are again part of the package.

All three systems are already available through TT Premium, although availability and price may vary by region.

The Taiwanese manufacturer also presented a new mechanical keyboard to the audience at their booth on the fourth floor of the Nangang Exhibition Hall, named the TT Premium X1 RGB keyboard. There are Cherry MX Silver and Blue microswitches on the buffet, and we will be able to grab the one we want – although the blue cherry version will come into view a little later. In addition to the dedicated media control buttons and volume control, there is also an audio jack for headphones and a USB 2.0 on the frame. With software buhera, we can not only fiddle with RGB, but we can also record complete macros and profiles. As accessories, the package includes a magnetic wrist rest and eight extra keycaps (Q, W, E, R, A, S, D, F – all in red), along with a key removal tweezers. The keyboard communicates with the computer at 1000Hz via gold-plated USB, and N-key Rollover and some internal memory are also on the list of features.

The possibility of using 16.8 million colors is practically standard, which the keyboard provides with twelve dynamic effects (static, pulsating, reactive, raindrops, spiral rainbow, etc.) and five levels of adjustable brightness and flashing speed. It is compatible with TT RGB Sync power supplies and water coolers – and in fact with everything that bears this logo, so we can coordinate the RGB color organ of our systems in a totalitarian way, even with the help of a mobile application, which can add a VGC (Virtual Game Controller) function to our smartphone/tablet if needed. . The keyboard has five pre-configured lighting zones (FPS1, FPS2, MMO, MOBA, RTS), but these zones can of course be customized. The Cherry MX Silver variant of the product is sold at a suggested retail price of $140, while the Cherry MX Blue variant is $130.

Thermaltake’s LUXA2 division also paid its respects at the exhibition, from their selection we would like to highlight the EnerG Bar 60W USB Type C Power Delivery Wall Charger and the EnerG Bar 65W Wall Type Universal NB Charger. The former is a compact adapter for notebooks with a minimalist design, which detects the connected device after connecting the 1 meter long USB Type-C cable and automatically adjusts its performance. The makers provided it with protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating and short circuit, and in addition to reliable operation, they promise a correct energy conversion efficiency. It also comes with a cable clip. The suggested retail price is $40.

The 65 W bigger brother is a versatile wall adapter, also for mobile devices. Compatible with 99% of notebooks on the market; ten replaceable terminations are included, which can be used to regulate the direct current output, and it is also provided with the protections already listed above. The power cable is UL certified, which is available with four endings (EU, USA, UK, AU). The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $40.

Finally, as a result of the TT RGB PLUS software and Razer Synapse 3, starting this fall, all Thermaltake TT RGB Plus products will be able to be synchronized with Razer Chroma Lightning products, including cases, power supplies, coolers, fans, gaming peripherals and other accessories. We recently wrote about Razer’s intention to expand its portfolio, one of the cornerstones of which is the licensing of Chroma lighting technology.
