The Portuguese venture capital fund Mustard Seed Maze (MSM), managed by the company Maze, which specializes in social and environmental impact investments, has invested in the capital of the Spanish company Samara, a company that focuses on energy solutions for residential customers based on solar panels, batteries and electric vehicle chargers.
The MSM fund, which has already invested in more than three dozen companies in Europe, invested 1.5 million euros in Samara, bringing the total raised by the Spanish company in its Series A investment round to 10.5 million euros.
The goal of Samara, which was founded in the summer of 2022, is to cover the entire Spanish territory (where it currently has 74% coverage) with its technological platform by the end of this year to offer services focused on the energy transition.
Samara was created about two years ago by Iván Cabezuela, former director of the company Bulb in Spain, and by Manel Pujol, former leader of Uber Eats in Spain.
Between aces startups Other projects linked to the energy sector are already supported by the Portuguese company Maze, such as Goparity (a Portuguese company that promotes collaborative financing) and Eco Wave Power (a company of Israeli origin with wave energy technology).
