A two-kilometer long beach

The city’s most popular swimming spot is located in the Pirita district, about seven kilometers from the center. The beach saves the day when the trip is hot or the kids absolutely want to swim.

The two-kilometer-long light-sand beach has a good setting. On the beach there are, among other things, changing rooms, a children’s playground and a ball court. Sun loungers and water sports equipment are also available on the beach.

Pirita’s beach is comfortably shallow, so it is suitable for the whole family. During the summer months, a lifeguard is on duty at the beach.

Pirita is very popular in the summer among both locals and tourists. In hot weather, “everyone” comes here – so the beach can be crowded at times.

From Pirita’s beach, the view opens up to Tallinn’s old town and the Gulf of Finland. It is also possible to stay in the area if you need a base further away from the center of Tallinn.

Pirita’s beach has earned international recognition Blue flag -code, which indicates the good level of the beach. Blue flag beaches have passed strict criteria regarding the environment, water purity and quality, safety and accessibility.

It is easy to travel to Pirita from the center of Tallinn by bus, taxi or even by bicycle. Buses 6, 8, 34 and 38 operate to Pirita.

Attractions located in the district include the Tallinn Botanical Garden and the city’s highest viewpoint, the 314-meter television tower.
