SARAJEVO – The trade union of workers in BH Telecom has announced a strike in the coming period.

As it was said, the reason for this move is “disrespect of the collective agreement” between this public company and the workers.

According to the internal e-mail in which it is Klix.ba had insight, a meeting of the Central Board of the BH Telecom Union was held a few days ago.

The board discussed one point, and according to this e-mail, it was “the current situation regarding non-compliance with the provisions of the Individual Collective Agreement”, and “the activities and response of the Union to the arbitrariness of the Company’s Management in harmonizing workers’ wages with the cost of living” were also mentioned. ”

At the meeting, a decision was made to go on strike, and it is noted that all members of the CO SBHT voted “for” this move.

However, as further stated, the date when the strike will start has not yet been determined, and they pointed out that they will inform the Management of BH Telecom and the Government of the Federation of BiH, which is the majority owner of this public company, about it in a timely manner.

As Klix.ba learns, the whole problem between the workers and the management was caused by the salary increase in line with inflation.

According to the Individual Collective Agreement, if statistics show that inflation was five percent or more, BH Telecom’s Management is obliged to increase workers’ salaries by the amount of inflation.

As the Trade Union of BH Telecom already announced on July 11 this year, the Management’s offer was 1,000 KM in one-time assistance and a salary increase from January 1, 2025.

The Union’s position is that this is not acceptable, partly because the amount of 1000 KM is insufficient to cover 11 months without a wage increase in line with inflation, but also because of the fact that without a wage increase in the amount of inflation, the Individual Collective Agreement is violated.
