LG 8K TVs are available for purchase

LG is the first in the world to start marketing its 8K OLED and 8K nanocell LED TVs. The former will be the 88-inch 88Z9 model, the latter the 75-inch 75SM99. The TVs will initially be available in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, but probably not in Hungary for quite some time. Of course, this can be seen, but it is strange that Japan was left out of the list – especially since for now native content is almost only available in the island country.

The TVs offer a resolution of 7680×4320 pixels, which means they use 33 million pixels, and of course they have impeccable image quality. The OLED TV belongs (also) to the SIGNATURE product line, which means that LG sees it as a premium model.

The electronics of the TVs are also capable of upscaling lower resolution content in good quality, LG promises that the chip called Alpha 9 Gen 2 8K can add some of the original image quality even for Full HD content. Among the additional image enhancements, Cinema HDR, Dolby Vision, HLG and Advanced HDR support are also available for those buyers who do not care about the price: both TVs are available in the above countries as of yesterday, but prospective buyers really have to dig deep into their pockets. the 88-inch OLED TV costs 40,000 euros.
