It has been rumored for several months that there will be big steps forward in ray tracing-performance for AMD’s upcoming graphics card with the architecture RDNA 4. Now the information becomes even more concrete when the new functions are listed by Kepler_L2 via x.com.
The information claims that all or most of the functions should find their way into the graphics circuit of the upcoming Playstation 5 Pro as it combines functions from RDNA 3 and 4. Just ray tracing– performance should get a real boost with two to three times better performance of the Playstation 5 Pro compared to the standard version of the console.
Kepler_L2 has previously established that AMD will completely skip the highest performance segment of the graphics cards in the next generation Radeon series. The focus is therefore stated to be on the upper and lower middle class.
Despite the user’s history of high credibility when it comes to information about upcoming circuits, rumors should, as usual, be taken with a heaped deciliter measure of Himalayan salt.
Previous rumors claim that the Playstation 5 Pro will already be released this winter, while the next-generation Radeon graphics card may take a few more months. We will find out in a few months how much truth lies behind the recent rumours.
