“Feared for my own life”

The Swedish Hollywood wife Maria Montazami recently told the podcast “Ask the Criminologist” about her being in the middle of a violent shop drama.

In the episode that aired last week, she talked about how, about ten years ago, she witnessed a robbery at her local grocery store. The situation made her fear for her life.

– I was terrified, she says in the podcast.

It was when the star was shopping that a robbery broke out in the store. Maria Montazami talks about how she had to flee for her life.

Maria Montazami: “I screamed”

It was during a visit to the store that she saw a man behaving suspiciously. Then the star spoke up.

– When I was on my way into the store, I saw a large man with a cart full of goods. I got a strong feeling that something was not right and asked him: “Did you pay for that?”.

Maria tells us that the man, who turned out to be a thief, was frightened by her question. In his panic, he tried to put his legs on his back and escape.

– He rushed out into the parking lot. I shouted over the tills: “We have a thief, he has stolen a whole cart of groceries!” The manager, a woman, ran after him. After a few minutes, she was knocked down outside by the car, she says in the podcast.

Maria Montazami: “Feared for my life”

Maria Montazami alerted her husband Chamber Montazami and asked him to get there at once. She talks about how she momentarily feared for her own life.

– When the adrenaline had subsided, I was terrified! I crouched down and ran to the back of the store. I called Kamran and said: “You have to come and get me right away, he can come in here and beat me up!”, she says.

The shop assistant who ran after the perpetrator was knocked to the ground. But Maria says that fortunately she was able to leave the place unharmed.

– I had to go out the back door and Kamran came and picked me up there, she says.
