PRIJEDOR – “Drvo-export” from Teslić, which is associated with SNSD councilor Srđan Klječanin Rufi, has entered the final phase of obtaining a concession for the exploitation of coal at the Bukova Kosa site near Prijedor, from which its trucks have been doing just that for some time.
The government made a decision to start the process of awarding a concession in the Veliko Palančište local community along the main road Prijedor – Kozarska Dubica.
“The concession awarding procedure is initiated based on the initiative of the company “Drvo-export” Teslić. Based on the initiative, the attached documentation and the previous consultations, it is confirmed that there is public interest from the economic, sociological and ecological aspects for the realization of the concession in question. it is stated in the decision published by the Government of the RS in the Official Gazette of the RS.
The residents of this village, who have been protesting against the opening of the mine for a year and a half, say that they don’t understand why they asked for a concession, because they didn’t even need it. In addition, they say that excavators cut their internet cables and landlines almost a month ago and have been cut off ever since.
“I don’t know what the concession is for them when they can do whatever they want. They just bother with the formalities. Excavation of the village started back in February, and they have been exporting coal from here for at least ten days. What kind of concession do they need? Imagine, they cut our landline and internet cables a month ago and as far as we know, that fault will not be repaired. We signed the contracts, paid 1,700 KM for the connection and will sue them if they don’t fix it“, asks a resident of Bukova Kosa.
