Elena Lasconi, USR leader and the party’s presidential candidate, criticized Klaus Iohannis for not attending the NATO dinner in Washington.

Yes, I have definite information, from three sources. It doesn’t even matter, and if the meal would have hurt him, and if he had a problem with his stomach, you were voted by the Romanians to represent Romania, and we were not represented not at Cuca Măcăii at I don’t know what fair, but in United States.

“I will listen, let’s see what he has to say, but at the moment I don’t feel that we can go into an alliance. There is a need for sanitation in PNL. They cannot detach themselves from the PSD”, said Lasconi, who announced a meeting with the PNL leader.
Regarding a USR-PNL collaboration, Lasconi stated that he would discuss such a hypothesis in the party if the liberals would distance themselves from the PSD.
Îasked if USR and PNL could support each other in the second round of the presidential elections, Lasconi said that this should be “self-evident”.

Asked what he thought of the latest opinion pollaccording to which he would occupy fourth place in terms of Romanians’ presidential preferences (with 14%), after Marcel Ciolacu, George Simion and Mircea Geoană, the USR leader replied that he does not believe in polls, but in the intelligence of Romanians and in his own deeds.
“I am the man of dialogue. It should be discussed with all those who consider themselves right-wing. This week, I will definitely talk with PNL representatives. But the PNL should do a little cleaning and sanitization, because now they cannot detach themselves from the PSD, but I know that inside the PNL there are people who know that this is not the right path either for them or for the country”, concluded Lasconi.
