Two of the four people who forced an academic couple working at İnönü University, who are developing a composite material to protect aircraft against laser weapons in Malatya, to stop their vehicle by hitting it in traffic and then tried to attack it, were caught as a result of the devoted work of the police teams. The incident took place in the Yakınca area of the Yeşilyurt district.
POLICE INTERVENED IN THE INCIDENT IMMEDIATELY
According to the information received, a car heading in the same direction hit the vehicle of Chemical Engineer Doctor Yeliz Toptaş and Inonu University Mechanical Engineering Department Research Assistant Murat Toptaş, who were traveling in their private vehicle in the region, forcing the couple to stop. After the collision, 4 people told the academic couple to pull their vehicle to the right and walked towards the couple after they stopped them. In the meantime, police teams passing by the scene quickly intervened. 2 of the suspects fled the scene and moved away. The traffic team that intervened in the incident wanted to check the identity of the other 2 suspects.
THEY GOT IN THEIR VEHICLES AND RAN AWAY
The suspects who fled in their vehicles after the teams requested their IDs were captured on the vehicle camera. After an hour of persistent pursuit by the police teams, it was determined that one of the two suspects caught in the Doğanşehir district borders had numerous criminal records and was wanted, while the other suspect was a former soldier who was dismissed from his duty.
While the academic couple went to the police station and filed a complaint against the suspects, the person with numerous criminal records and wanted names was arrested. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
