- Samsung offered pre-installed two applications for working with SMS and MMS in its phones
- One was from Samsung, the other from Google. They differed mainly in support in smart watches
- Now the application from Samsung is disappearing and the one from Google remains as the default and the only one
As he pointed out social network Xuser Max Wainbach, Samsung did not pre-install its SMS and MMS application on the new Galaxy Z Flip6 (SM-F741BZSGEUE) and Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956BZSBEUE) phones. Only the Google app is available with RCS enabled by default.
Samsung has been allowing users for quite some time choosing between Samsung’s and Google’s SMS app. Until the Galaxy Watch4 smart watch came out, which was the first to run on the Wear OS operating system, the choice of application was subordinated precisely to the fact that Tizen did not support the News application from Google. But now it works with Google app watch, so it makes no sense to maintain two applications that do the same thing.

According to the reactions of users from all over the world, se the change does not affect the whole worldon the other hand, I was checking the status of a person who has Czech distribution of Galaxy Z Fold6 and already Samsung’s SMS app is missing. So it can be assumed that Samsung has given up on developing a separate application. We can only hope that it will not continue with a dialer, which is much more usable than the one from Google.
Will you miss Samsung’s Messages app for SMS?
