EPYC processors are up to twice as fast as the Nvidia Grace Superchip

AMD claims that their EPYC server processors are up to twice as fast as Nvidia’s Grace CPU Superchip in various benchmarks.

Nvidia is a newcomer to the data center CPU industry that needs to prove it can develop competitive server processors. It stands on the other side AMD, which considers Nvidia’s 72-core Grace Hopper Superchip to be a competitor and therefore compares it to the performance of its EPYC processor. Benchmarks according to AMD show a double performance in favor of the EPYC CPU.

AMD claims its EPYC processors hold over 300 world records for performance and efficiency in a variety of benchmarks, including enterprise applications, technical computing, data management, data analytics, digital services, media and entertainment. Nvidia’s Hopper, on the other hand, is known for its prowess in artificial intelligence applications. AMD also says AMD EPYC processors offer a lower total cost of ownership than Nvidia’s Grace due to their high performance, energy efficiency and compatibility with existing software and infrastructure.
