We have imperceptibly developed into a society where essentially all our eggs are in one basket, that is, we have deliberately connected ourselves to the ends of the wires from which we get electricity.
Without electricity, it is downright impossible to maintain a modern standard of living – light, heat, driving a car and even brushing your teeth come via wires. But the wires mostly lead us to thermal power plants, where electricity is obtained by evaporating water. The same will happen in a nuclear plant, if one ever comes.
