movies being removed July 2024. What to watch?

We’ve got an unofficial list of over 50 titles that will soon disappear from SkyShowtime’s VOD services. When will they be gone and what’s worth seeing?

SkyShowtime will lose over 50 films from its platform at the end of the month, which will surely upset many fans of classics and not only. Among the titles that will soon be removed are both classics and newer productions that have won the appreciation of viewers around the world. So it is worth taking a moment to remind yourself of some of them or watch them for the first time before they disappear from the offer.

Movies being removed from SkyShowtime – what to watch

One of the films that will soon be removed from SkyShowtime is “Liar Liar” from 1997. It is a comedy in which Jim Carrey plays a lawyer who, due to his son’s wishes, cannot lie for 24 hours. The film gained huge popularity thanks to Carrey’s brilliant humor and excellent acting, who in the role of Fletcher Reede created one of the unforgettable characters in the star’s career. Another film that is worth watching before it is removed is one of my favorite titles: “Casper”. It is a family fantasy comedy telling the story of a friendly ghost who befriends a girl named Kat. This film, starring Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman, delights not only children but also adults, and it is worth adding that Casper has been adapted into many films and series, including animated ones, which are still very popular today.

Classics will disappear from VOD. What is worth seeing?

“Kindergarten Cop” is a true classic with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this comedy, Arnold plays the role of a tough cop who has to pretend to be a kindergarten teacher in order to catch a dangerous criminal. The film really shows a completely different side of Schwarzenegger than is commonly known, and the actor successfully finds himself in a comedic role. “The Theory of Everything” tells the life story of Stephen Hawking – one of the most outstanding physicists of our time. The film, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, won numerous awards and nominations, including an Oscar for best actor for Redmayne.

Among the films that will soon disappear is also “The Thing” from 1982 – an arch-classic science fiction horror directed by John Carpenter. The film tells the story of a group of scientists in Antarctica who discover an alien capable of taking the form of other organisms. “The Thing” is one of the most iconic horror films, which to this day can terrify anyone who sees it for the first time. A more recent horror film that will disappear from SkyShowtime is “M3GAN”, the sequel of which is currently in the works. It is a very current thematic science fiction horror about a doll with advanced artificial intelligence that becomes dangerous to the surroundings. It did not make such a good impression on me, but overall the film was very well received.

Finally, it is worth mentioning “Mandy” – a psychedelic horror film starring Nicolas Cage. The film focuses on the story of a man who takes revenge on the cult responsible for the death of his beloved. The production received praise for its visuals, intense atmosphere and excellent performance by Cage, who is starting to return to much better roles than in previous years. If you have not had the opportunity to watch these films yet, it is worth doing so before they disappear from SkyShowtime’s offer, although it is possible that some of them will return to the catalog sooner or later or will appear on the competition.
