The structure that went up in flames in Striano and which housed the Ambrosio confectionery industry has almost completely collapsed. The mayor: “A sad day for all of us”
Firefighters put out the fire that practically destroyed the Ambrosio confectionery factory warehouse in Striano, in the Naples area. The building, measuring almost 12,000 square meters, went up in flames yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, July 23, and required the intervention of several firefighter patrols: at least 6 patrols with reinforcements from the provincial commands of Salerno and Avellino had to intervene to put out the flames. The structure almost completely collapsed: only during the night were the flames put out by firefighters.
The fire broke out yesterday
The mayor of Striano Giulio Gerli commented on the news on his social media channels:
At the end of a difficult day for the entire Striano community, we would like to send a huge hug to the Ambrosio family and to all the company’s workers.
We can only imagine the complicated and painful moment they are experiencing, but we feel like telling them that they must not feel alone: they have not been alone in these turbulent hours, they will not be alone in the future, when they will find an administration ready to stand by them.
We have done everything we could to contain the emergency and we would like to thank the police, firefighters, municipal police officers, municipal staff, Civil Protection and all the citizens who have lent a hand.
Today is a sad day for everyone, but it is also the day when we must stand together as a community, feeling even more like a family.
