Wray said the shooter was “focused” on Donald Trump and an upcoming campaign event through Internet searches and he also looked for how far from President Kennedy his assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was.
That’s pretty important given his state of mind.”
Wray said at his hearing.
He also touched on the fact that the shooter visited the site of Trump’s campaign event several timesbefore the event took place, once even flew a drone over the area.
Donald Trump was shot by a 20-year-old local man, Thomas Crooks. Trump was injured in the ear, the assassin was shot by the Secret Service. Authorities still don’t know exactly why Crooks wanted to kill the former president.
