Videoland becomes 1 euro more expensive per month

The last price increase was just over a year ago, but video streaming service Videoland has announced that it will increase prices (again). For all three types of subscriptions, you will soon pay one euro more per month.

Videoland more expensive from June 26, 2024

In May 2023, we wrote that Videoland would charge one euro more per month for subscribers of a Plus or Premium subscription. Now, more than a year later, the service has announced another price increase, but it applies to all three types of subscriptions.

If you have a Basic subscription, you will soon pay 5.99 euros per month. For the Plus subscription, that will be 10.99 euros per month and Videoland Premium will cost 12.99 euros. The new prices will go into effect from August 26. Users will soon receive additional information via email, the service said, but a support page already contains many questions and answers.

The price increases are necessary: “to offer even more exclusive series, films and documentaries from our own country and internationally every day”can be read there.

Differences in Videoland subscriptions

Videoland offers three types of subscriptions, which differ greatly from each other. With the Basic subscription, you are regularly shown commercials and you can only watch on one device at a time. It is also not possible to download content for on the go. The costs are 4.99 euros per month, but that will be 5.99 euros.

With the Plus subscription, it is possible to download series, films or documentaries and watch them offline. You will not see any advertising while watching and you can watch on two devices at the same time. Currently, you pay 9.99 euros per month, but that will be 10.99 euros.

Finally, there is the Premium subscription, which allows you to watch four streams at the same time. Of course, this is also ad-free and downloading is also possible. The current price for this type is 11.99 euros per month and there is also an extra euro: 12.99 euros per month.

Price increases are nothing new

Price increases for streaming services are nothing new. In recent years, prices have not only increased at Videoland itself, but also services such as Netflix, Disney, Viaplay or F1 TV Pro charge (considerably) more. You also increasingly have to pay extra if you share your subscription with people outside the family, which is the case with Netflix, for example.
