“The Disney Story”: New history series about Mickey Mouse and Co.

The History Channel plans to take a comprehensive look at the history of the Disney empire this fall.

“The Disney Story – How a Mouse Made History” will look at the history of Walt Disney over six one-hour episodes. The Disney brand now combines films, theme parks and merchandising. The History Channel plans to broadcast the documentary series every Monday at 8:15 p.m. starting September 9th.

As the channel announces, the series will use archive material, staged sequences and expert interviews to retell the developments and challenges from the Disney story and explore how the company was able to become so successful. Each episode will focus on a specific topic. The History Channel mentions the birth of Mickey Mouse, the era of the animated film, Disneyland, the licensing of Disney products as well as Disney World and the Imagineers. According to the announcement, the program is also available in streaming and on demand via Wow/Sky, the YouTube Primetime Channels and the Amazon Prime Video Channels available.
