(Seoul = Newsis) Reporters Lee Jun-ho and Lee Hyeon-ju = As Timon, which caused the ‘delayed payment settlement incident’, announced that it would no longer accept refund applications, victims are continuing to protest.

At around 4:00 PM on the 26th, a Timon official announced at the new Timon building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul that they would be suspending on-site refunds.

There was also some shouting at the scene as officials revealed that with the funds currently available, it would likely be possible to refund up to 1,000 units.

However, online applications will continue to be accepted.

In response, hundreds of victims waiting at the scene protested, shouting and swearing, saying things like, “If you took my money, shouldn’t you give it back?”, “You’re just sitting there talking like XX?”, and “I’m not leaving until I get my money.”

Timon began on-site refunds late in the morning that day.

Kwon Do-wan, head of Timon’s operations division, arrived at Timon’s new building at around 1:00 AM that day and said to the victims occupying the building, “I am truly sorry for the delay compared to WeMakePrice’s response,” and “Due to difficult financial circumstances, we cannot do everything in a short period of time and will try to resolve them sequentially.”

The scene was swarmed with victims who had come to hear the news. As so many people gathered in an instant, some even raised concerns that a stampede accident was imminent.

Later that afternoon, a Timon official apologized to the victims and said, “If customers are present (at the scene), we plan to accept their applications until the end.”
