At the Olympic Games in Paris, the Slovenians will try to add to their rich collection of medals from the previous games. At the last Summer Olympic Games, which were held in Tokyo in 2021, they won five of them, three of which were gold. Two Olympic gold medalists from Tokyo will also defend their titles in Paris, they are white water canoeists Benjamin Savšek and sports climber Janja Garnbret.

The Slovenian expedition is the largest so far, also because of three team appearances – handball players, handball players and volleyball players. While the men’s handball national team has some experience throughout history with three appearances at the Olympic Games, the women’s handball and volleyball players traveled to the Olympics for the first time this time.
