The commercial establishments of Martorell and the Local Police will be more connected from September thanks to DragAlert. It is a free application for Android mobile phones and tablets that the Martorell City Council and the Local Police offer traders so that they can quickly, directly and silently notify the Local Police in the event of theft, emergency or other security issues . This initiative is included in the set of actions announced by the municipal government to continue improving security in Martorell and support for local commerce.
“This week the information and membership campaign for DragAlert has been launched, and it is planned that the service will be launched in September”, as detailed by the Councilor for Citizen Security of the Martorell City Council, Lluís Sagarra, who adds that “with this pioneering program, we want to give more security to the commercial establishments of Martorell, which are a very important part of our economic fabric”.

It can be downloaded for free from the Play Store from your mobile phone or tablet, but requires a connection activation with the Local Police.
All establishments that wish to adhere to this alert system must fill out this form. Once the trade’s membership application has been collected, the Local Police will verify that the establishment’s telephone coverage is adequate for the DragAlert to connect to it correctly. Later, the Local Police will visit the establishment to register it in the database and the service will be activated. The establishment will receive a membership badge to make it visible to the business.
DragAlert is an application that consists of a virtual button that, when pressed, generates an emergency signal to the local police station or patrol mobile phone, indicating the fixed location of the person calling for help. the security force, at that precise moment, finds out which establishment is suffering from an unsafe situation and goes there immediately to make the corresponding check. It is not intended to replace any connection to an alarm center, but to become a means of silent, direct and effective warning to the police.
The service can be activated by any person who works in the establishment or public or private center in question, with a fixed location and who is not obliged, by law, to have private security systems, as is the case with banking entities, jewelries and the like.
It can only be used in cases of emergency, such as theft with violence or intimidation, theft with force on things, situations of serious disturbance of public order – such as assaults or fights – and situations of risk to people.
