It has been reported that a drug addict committed suicide by hanging himself in Chandnaish. His name is Shambhu Ghosh (50). On Tuesday (January 7) night, he committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house in Jamizuri Bainyapara village of Dohazari Municipality of Upazila.
On receiving the information, the police of Chandanish police station recovered his body around 12 noon today. He is the son of deceased Sanatan Ghosh of the area.
According to local and police sources, Shambhu Ghosh was a regular drinker and heavily in debt. He used to drink and beat his wife regularly. On the day of the incident, he also beat his wife and left the house.
That night he hanged himself in his house. On receiving the information, the police of Chandanish police station recovered his body on Wednesday. Suruthal sent the body to Chamek Hospital morgue for post-mortem after making the report.
Jujutsu Yash Chakma, OC (Investigation) of Chandanish Police Station said that the victim Shambhu Ghosh was in a drunken state. He used to quarrel with his family about this and used to beat his wife. I heard that even on the day of the incident, he beat his wife so much that she left. His body was recovered and sent to the morgue for post-mortem. He said that a case of wrongful death will be registered in this regard.
