GLOBAL challenges such as geopolitical tensions, energy crisis and market fragmentation will shape the business environment in 2025, said Marko Čadež, president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).
In an interview with TANJUG, he pointed out that Serbia is ideal for opening new plants and announced modern technological tools for the Serbian economy.
Serbia’s chance, according to Čadež, is in the new developments, primarily investment, because companies from Asia and the USA, in order to be present on the European continent, will also have to produce there.
– The technological revolution we are going through is the most intense in the last fifty years. We are facing the fragmentation of the market, and it is to be expected that the three biggest players, the USA, China and Europe, will continue to fight even more intensely when it comes to tariffs and customs restrictions. So, a type of new protective measures, where everyone wants to protect their region and their economy, which will lead to new challenges on how to create supply chains so that you can remain competitive and how to be present on other markets – he said.
Serbia and our region, according to Čadež, are ideal for exactly that, to be the place where production facilities with the most modern products from other continents will be opened.
– We will see how things will unfold in Europe in 2025, but I think that here we will see much more investments from the Asian region, first of all I am thinking of Japan, China, Korea, but also the USA – he pointed out.
Speaking about the digital services of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, he said that the goal of the Chamber of Commerce is to become more modern, technologically advanced, with a focus on innovation and a new way of dialogue with its members.
– At the beginning of this year, we will prepare a digital catalog of exporters, where for the first time we will have all our exporters in one place with data on what they export, to which markets, which certificates they have – stated Čadež.
PKS also starts with a marketplace, which will enable our suppliers and customers to better connect within Serbia and market their goods in other markets.
He will continue to appear in front of the Chamber of Commerce in the function of economic diplomacy and connecting our businessmen with leaders in various fields, as was the case at the Web Summit in Lisbon in November last year.
He added that a strategic partnership has been established with them and that we will be present at the Web Summit in Qatar and Vancouver. Then, to start organizing events in Belgrade with “Gitex Global” from Dubai. The appearance of Serbian innovative companies in Berlin is also planned, the cooperation of PKS with the Tech Starts network, which accelerates the growth of innovative startups and innovative companies, as well as support for fast-growing companies through the first startup factory – Tesla venture studio.
