Bluesky’s first growth spurt ends at 26 million members

Social messaging service Bluesky has 26.4 million users, a small percentage increase compared to last month.

The first big wave of explosive growth is over figures from Similarweb to see.

It was only a few months ago that Bluesky ended its closed beta phase and opened the service to all interested parties.

The social network benefited from an exodus of users from Twitter/X following the US presidential election results in November. Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter did not make the service less woke or balanced, as the entrepreneur promised, but rather into a digital cesspool where no real discussion is possible. Leavers hope for a fresh restart at Bluesky.

Bluesky does not have hundreds of millions of users and on a global scale it is small. There are such ones every day million messages posted and one and a half million receive a heart.
