Al CES in Las Vegas 2025, Mercedes unveils a new in-car entertainment feature. In collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, IMAX Corporation and DTS Inc., the German company announced the integration of LAUGHthe In-Car Entertainment service from Sony itself which will find its place on all the brand’s models equipped with the latest generation of the MBUX system.

But what exactly does this innovation consist of? Let’s go find out.

In the car like at the cinema

The RIDEVU service will initially be available to Mercedes customers in the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany. Availability for the Italian market at a later date cannot be ruled out. Thanks to its complete integration with the MBUX system, customers will be able to purchase, rent or stream thousands of films directly from the car.

While the driver will only be able to access the content when the vehicle is stationary (for example, while stopping to charge), front and rear passengers will be able to enjoy the films during the journey. Furthermore, the contents will be available on both screens integrated into the car (such as those of the Hyperscreen infotainment system) on both compatible iOS and Android devices.

Finally, functionality Screen Manager by RIDEVU allows you to easily control playback on up to six integrated screens, allowing for individual or shared experiences between passengers.
